I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 4th December, confirming that you havE letter of the th Decemb accepted the offer of £1,000 by the Hong Kong

Government for your collection of pictures. It is understood from Dr. Sloss that you are arranging to hand over your collection to Bessrs. Bolton snd Pairhead and that you are informing the Crown #gents when this has been done The Crown Agents are being authorised to pay you £1,000 as soon as possible after this, The Crown gents are also being asked to arrange the insurance of the collection from the tim it leaves your eare.
